Guy who flipped bird not seeking real answers | Letter

Editor,

Now why would a driver going past Friday’s COER vigil aimed at moving the Growlers off Whidbey Island flip the bird at the demonstrators?

Why? Because the poor guy in that pickup fears what he has heard — maybe even read — and hence has concluded that COER doesn’t care about national security, that COER is out to close Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, that COER members are an unpatriotic cult of evil-doers that don’t know sleet from shineola.

His answer to his intellectual and informational shortfall is in his finger.

That guy would be unable to grapple with the ambiguity in the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s answer that was “Blowin’ in the Wind,” and he therefore doesn’t seek real answers that would challenge the thought processes limited only the fingers on each hand.

And he obviously was not the father of the 5-year-old at Rhododendron Park, who lay on the ground clutching his ears during a surprise practice session of Growlers at the OLF last week.

Truck fella, our kids don’t deserve birds, nor do yours?
