Harry Nelson

Harry O. Nelson, 84, a resident of Burlington, died unexpectedly Feb. 5, 2004. He was born March 3, 1919, in Duluth, Minn., to Rudolph and O’Lien Nelson.

Harry joined the United States Army in 1940.

He was united in marriage to Marian Weackler April 22, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark.

After his service in the Army, the family moved to Chelan, and he worked with his brother in managing an apple orchard. In 1946, the family moved to Seattle and he joined the Carpenters Union Local 131 and worked in construction.

Interests and hobbies included fishing, hunting and woodworking. He was a life member of the NRA and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Marian at home; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kris Nelson of La Conner; one daughter, Evelyn Nelson Dobson of Burlington, formerly of Whidbey Island; four grandchildren, Robert Nelson of Arlington, Saran, Alexis and Kalon Eskola of La Conner; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Nelson, Dakota Nelson of Arlington and Haley Nelson of Arlington and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Edmonds.

Memorial services were held Feb. 13 at Hulbush Funeral Home of Burlington.
