Darlene Gay ‘Sis’ Melvin, age 71, died April 6, 2013 at Careage of Whidbey, Coupeville, WA.  She was born June 26, 1941 in Crescent City, California to Harold and Frances Melvin.  She attended grammar school in Klamath, CA and graduated from high school in Crescent City.  She married and from that marriage, three children were born, Dan, Raydean and Allen.

Darlene was divorced and raised her children as a single mom.  She worked as a waitress and an owner of a café for most of her life.  She enjoyed sewing, family and visits to her favorite casinos.

She moved to Whidbey Island in September to enjoy the remainder of her years with her son’s family, Dan and Gladys Gibson and grandson Ethan.

Cremation was held.  She will be buried on the Melvin Ranch in Bald Hills, California at a later date.
