Anne Louise Taylor Owens

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend.

Former Whidbey resident, Anne Louise Taylor Owens, went to be with her Lord on Nov. 15, 2008 after a valiant 3 year battle with cancer.

Anne, known to her friends and family as Annie, was born in Minneapolis. She grew up in Seattle, attending St. Joseph elementary school, Garfield High School and Elizabeth Leonard Modeling School. She worked in theatre, hospitality, and later in the medical field as a medical assistant. She blessed those around her with her gracious spirit, wonderful sense of humor and her ability to converse on seemingly boundless topics.

Annie had a knowledge and love of fashion, gardening, food, fine wine, music, classic movies, literature and the arts. But above all, Annie loved the Lord, her family and friends, and always felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was becoming a mother of daughter Sarah Noel.

She was steadfast, loyal and generous, with a sense of justice, fairness and a deep compassion for the marginalized of the world. Annie ensured that no one in need ever went without. Her passing has dimmed the color in many people’s lives.

Preceded in death by her father, William. Annie is survived by her husband, Douglas Owens, her daughter, Sarah Noel Owens, as well as her mother, Shirley E. Viall (Dallas), of Coupeville, her five siblings: William Taylor III,(Vickie) Port Townsend, Geoffrey Taylor (Katherine), Poulsbo, Thomas Taylor, Seattle, Christopher Taylor (Carolina), Kenmore, and Mary Taylor Robertson (Cdr. Thomas), Annapolis, Md. Annie is also lovingly remembered by her five nephews and two nieces, many cousins and her dear friends.

A memorial service celebrating Annie’s life will be held in Seattle at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 145th NW, on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m.
