Recently, at a meeting, it was suggested that we write a letter to the editor to express our thankfulness for living in this wonderful country. Wouldn’t it be nice to be thankful for a change instead of the partisan sniping that goes on about our government and the president (I prefer to say President Bush, it is more respectful).
If perhaps equal time was spent reading about issues from both sides of the aisle a more realistic picture would be presented. All it takes to be thankful for this country is to visit another. Far too many Americans have not been out of this country to appreciate all that we have. For one thing, the opportunity to say derogatory things against our president and not suffer in fear for doing so.
We build monuments to the service people who have died for this country. Let us honor these people and our flag by being thankful for the freedom that we enjoy and the beauty of this country. Let us express ourselves by being kinder one to another.
God Bless America.
