Football field: Stadium money spent on offices

I was upset to read that the home games are not going to be played in Oak Harbor.

I was upset to read that the home games are not going to be played in Oak Harbor. The reason for this decision, the unsafe seating, is a very valid one. No one wants to see anyone get hurt. But my anger is directed at the school district and that this problem was allowed to get worse.

I’m sure the condition of these seats did not happen all of a sudden. Is this another example of “all of our eggs put in one basket”? Nothing was done because they were hoping to tax the community for the new high school and stadium? Why was this condition allowed to get worse? The money spend to buy the new district offices could have fixed the seating and playing field. Why did the district need to move their offices so quickly? Those millions spent on that deal could have helped out other places.

Instead of excuses, own up to the mistakes and miscues and do a better job for our kids and community. If you can’t do that then resign and let someone else in there that will listen to our community and kids.

The word “recall” is getting a lot of play in the news these days. It is possible to recall our school board from top to bottom for not doing the kind of job our kids and community deserves? I know I am tired of reading about mis-spending by the school board.
