Meerkerk Gardens Summer Arts Series presents the Whidbey Island Bluegrass Festival Saturday, Aug. 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The day begins with open mic on stage with jammin’ throughout the ten-acre Meerkerk Gardens.

Bring your instrument, your chair and your children as the musical tradition is carried on by playing with and learning from each other.

Tall trees, beautiful vistas and summer flowers in bloom compliment the great American traditional bluegrass acoustic music.

Three of our region’s best bluegrass bands perform all afternoon on stage: Pearly Blue, Urban Monroes and Deadwood Revival.

Tickets are $12 per adult and are available on line at www.meerkerkgardens.org or at the door. Children 16 and under are admitted free. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted.

Grilled food and light beverages will be available for purchase. Bring you own chair, blanket or picnic.
