You said it well and said it right in your column (Whidbey News-Times July 26). In spite of moles, scars, acne or even a runny nose, we who think enough to give a damn are grateful for our news media. We’ve often been in awe at the level of professionalism we’ve seen in this small rural newspaper.

We’ve been yearly subscribers for over 15 years. Who wants to be a box-a-rocks when such inexpensive subscriptions get you the straight scoop from hard-working, no-nonsense and honest reporting?
