COER president acted like schoolyard bully | Letter

Editor,

I continue to be dismayed by the appalling behavior of Michael Monson and his Citizens of Ebey’s Reserve associates.

Their behavior at the Rick Larsen campaign event on June 4 was a new low.

They disrupted the event by heckling Congressman Larsen and trying to divert the meeting to their personal agenda.

Even more disturbing was Monson’s badgering of a local Realtor. The Realtor, showing far more courtesy than Monson afforded him, left the event early to avoid further confrontation.

Monson’s behavior would be classified as harassment in the workplace or bullying in the schoolyard. The message he is sending is loud and clear — agree with me, or else.

We should not fear this bully nor his associates. It you haven’t already, please write your elected representatives.

Express your opinion in calm, respectful ways.

Those of us who support the Navy are far greater in number. Let’s work together to let our voices be heard.
