A poem with correct spelling
Comments: Editor’s Column, Sept. 22, “A cow stands a good chance in modern politics.”
Good morning Mr. Larsen, you wrote a lively editorial about the run for assessor, one problem I see, you misspelled Mary Engle’s name. The ‘e’ is last, as I typed it, versus “Engel” as you typed it. I work in the Assessor’s Office with Mary, so am very aware of how she spells her name, in addition to being familiar with the Engle family for many other reasons.
I have another topic to mention. On Sept. 15 I mailed a “poem” to your office, it hasn’t been printed. I feel it ties in nicely with your column; I wrote it after hearing so many people ask why Mary has a cow on her election sign. I’ll write it below and maybe you will decide to print it:
Why the cow?
No bull!
Grass roots
Local upbringing
Neighborhood school
Down to earth
Local farmer
Outstanding in her field (s)
Roller skate instructor
Soccer coach
Youth leader
Professional Photographer
Exemplary employee
Magnificent Mom
Ideal leader
Mary Wilson Engle
Running for Assessor
Why the cow?
No bull!
Have a great day.
