Thank you, Whidbey News-Times for recognizing one of our real local heroes, Jim Bailey.

After a long career as a law enforcement officer, he has truly put his training and skills to good use. Through his efforts people of all ages are benefiting from his classes on self protection — or self awareness — as he puts it.

Recently Jim spoke to a group at Oak Harbor Senior Center who now feel that much safer knowing better how to protect themselves. In this day and age, that means a lot!

Kudos to Mr. Bailey and to this paper for recognizing the important role Jim plays in our community.
