Air Force Airman Crystal L. Smith graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

She is the daughter of Eliza Lauersdorf of N.W. Captain Court, Oak Harbor, and is a 2008 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class KEONI T. KUAPAHI has arrived for duty at Dover Air Force Base, Del. Kuapahi is air traffic control assigned to the 436th Operations Support Squadron.

He is the son of Leialoha Kuapahi, and Amy E. Kuapahi, both of Oak Harbor. The recently promoted airman first class is a 2008 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Air Force Airman Michael S. Repose graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Ed and Edith Repose of Oak Harbor and a 2009 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Courtney M. Brown has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Brown is the daughter of Kathi Evans of Oak Harbor, and a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jordan H. Green, son of Cindy White of Oak Harbor, and David Green of Oak Harbor, recently completed Naval Nuclear Power Training Pipeline. During the course with Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y.

Green received instruction about nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security. Upon completion of the course, Green qualified as a Naval nuclear operator.

Green is a 2007 graduate of Oak Harbor High School. He joined the Navy in October 2007.
