December babies go home in stockings

“Years ago, Teri contacted Whidbey General Hospital, indicating that she wanted to make donations to the Whidbey Family Birthplace. She started with flannel and calico quilts, then she sent flannel blankets,” sad Trish Rose, hospital spokeswoman.

Then, Robinson asked if they’d like something different in December. “Her younger brother was born in December and came home tucked in a red felt stocking (a gift from the hospital),” Rose said. “The picture of him was so much a part of each Christmas for her family, and so adorable, that she proposed sending some red, baby-sized stockings to us.”

This is the third year that Whidbey General’s December babies will go home in Teri’s quilted red stockings.

“Whidbey Island holds a special place in people’s hearts, whether they live here or not, and Teri’s personal generosity of these gifts proves that special people can be found everywhere,” Rose said.
