Three other Wildcats placed in the top eight to score points for Oak Harbor.

Hailer led the way with a leap of 6-06 in the high jump, placing second to the 6-10 mark by Eddie Gonzalez of Spokane’s University High School.

Oak Harbor runners finished sixth in both 3,200 races. Sophomore John Rodeheffer clocked a 9:20.19 in the boys race while junior Alex Laiblin ran 11:17.32 in the girls.

Both races were won by North Central of Spokane runners with Tanner Anderson winning the boys in 9:01.83 and Katie Knight taking the girls in 10:18.12.

Senior Christina Wicker placed seventh in the 800 in 2:20.68. Rival Amy-Eloise Neale of Glacier Peak won in a state-record 2:08.61.

In other state action, Rodeheffer (4:27) and junior Clayton Richardson (4:27.69) finished 11th and 12th in the 1,600 won by North Central’s Keith Williams in 4:14.6.

Senior Dayne Herron placed 12th in the shot put in 47-03, two spots ahead of Jeremy Foster at 46-09.5. Aaron Cunningham of Hanford won with a 57-08.

The girls 4×200 team of Wicker, freshman Matti Miesle and sophomores Sierra Seabolt and Jessica Hollins was eighth in its heat and 15th overall in 1:51.43. Kamiakin finished first in 1:40.96.

As a team, the Oak Harbor boys scored 11 points and finished 22nd.  Bellevue took the team title with 65 points.

The Wildcat girls scored five points and placed 32nd. Kamiakin rolled up 118.5 points to win the state title.
