Robert ‘Mooch’ Muchler died Jan. 4, 2004, at his home in Maiden, N.C. He was born Oct. 5, 1954. Services were held Jan. 8, 2004, at Drum’s Funeral Home in Conover, N.C. He was stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station as a transport instructor for the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1988 to 1992. He was a gunnery sergeant. Upon his retirement from the USMC while at Twenty-nine Palms, Calif., in June 1999, he and his family moved to North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Patrice, son, Michael, sister Marie Larish, two aunts, one uncle, one nephew and numerous cousins.
