Memorial services for Paige Annmarie James will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m., at Oak Harbor First Baptist Church with Rev. Ozell Jackson officiating. Cremation was held with private family inurnment to follow at a later date.

Paige James was born Oct. 17, 2003, at the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, to Robert Craig Gunter, Jr. and Jamie Marie James. She died at Children’s Hospital, Seattle, on Oct. 27, 2003, at the age of 10 days.

She is survived by her parents, Robert Gunter, Jr. and Jamie James of Oak Harbor; by grandparents, Robert Craig Gunter of Oak Harbor; Bert Williams James of Oak Harbor; Karen Marie Ochsner of South Ogden, Utah; Jeannette Ann Stone of Denver, Colo., and by great-grandparents, Marge and Bill Sullivan of Oak Harbor; Robert Love Gunter of Longview and LaVerne Mane Martin of Oak Harbor.

In lieu of flowers, the parents are requesting stuffed animals and receiving blankets, which they would deliver to Children’s Hospital in Seattle.

This child’s life was short, yet the death left a huge void in all our hearts and lives. Let us remember today and for always the tiny baby who will never see childhood or adulthood, but will remain our tiny baby forever.
