Frances Schartman, age 93, died March 11, 2013 at Careage of Whidbey, Coupeville. She was born November 21, 1919 in Bishop, California to Bedford Fuller Killian and Gladys Bradford Killian. She was married to Marceau G. “Marty” Schartman on August 24, 1960 in Oxnard, Calif. As the wife of a Navy Sea-Bee she traveled to Japan, New England, Montana and Oak Harbor.

Frances held positions as an Executive Secretary in Calif. NH and Mont. She enjoyed playing golf, walking, hiking, gardening and quilting. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Whidbey Island Genealogical Society.

Frances is survived by one son Brion of Packwood, Wash. and by numerous grand and great grandchildren. Her husband Marty, two children, Stephen Sinkey and Barbara Cruickshank and twin brothers Leland and Neal and older brother Charles all preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life was held at Harbor Tower Village. Cremation was held with private family interment.
