Charlotte (Calaway) Agius died May 2, 2009 in Mt. Vernon, at the age of 31. She was born Nov. 11, 1977, in Oak Harbor to Charles and Susan Calaway. Charlotte was raised in Oak Harbor and attended Oak Harbor High School.
Charlotte was married to Brian Agius and they made Oak Harbor their home. She and Brian eventually divorced. Charlotte moved to Anacortes for several years and worked as a housekeeper for Island Inn. Recently she moved to Mount Vernon.
Charlotte loved animals, children and growing flowers. She fought a life-long battle with schizophrenia and is finally at peace.
Charlotte is survived by her mother, Susan Hulst (Don) of Coupeville; her father, Charles Calaway of Angleton, Texas; two sisters, April Calaway (Loa Mao) of Vancouver, Wash., and Tracy Lane of Anacortes; her very special Uncle Kevin Plachy; two nephews, one niece and her step-grandparents Jerry and Peggy Plachy.
Memorial services for Charlotte were held at Burley Funeral Chapel on May 8 with Pastor Jon Brown of First Reformed Church, Oak Harbor officiating.
