‘Willy Wonka Jr.’ at Whidbey Playhouse opens July 31; tickets available

Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway Junior adaptation of Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”

Featuring the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory,” many favorite characters and songs (including “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination”) are in this show that overflows with music, comedy and heart.

With a cast of 26 students, the youth production of “Willy Wonka Jr.” opens Thursday, July 31 at the Whidbey Playhouse, 730 S.E. Midway Blvd. in Oak Harbor and closes Aug. 10, for a total of eight performances.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children ages 12 and younger. Groups of 10 or more receive a $1 discount on each ticket. Show times are 7:30 p.m. for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and 2:30 p.m. for Sunday matinees.
