We were very pleased to read in the Saturday Whidbey News Times of the Noon Rotary Club’s positive role in leading the way for the Oak Harbor School District to have an athletic facility that all can be proud to support.

Equally important is their firm hand in controlling the funding and development of the project in a timely, well managed manner. A welcome inclusion would be overseeing actual construction.

We hope the school district leaders will grasp this opportunity to re-establish credibility with the taxpayers and put past blunders, some dating back to the early 1960s behind all of us.

Thank you, Rotarians. Once again you accept challenge, and pass your four way test with honor, i.e., “Of the things we think, say or do:”

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”

Who better to set new standards for the school district, deliver on this important project and lead by example for all to admire.
