Election 2006: Dean represents a united county

I am the Whidbey campaign coordinator for John Dean’s campaign for County Commissioner Third District, which includes North Oak Harbor and Camano Island. All registered voters in Island County get to vote for this position.

While I am biased in favor of John’s candidacy, I want to tell you why I think he would be an outstanding commissioner.

John started campaigning in November 2005. Once he and his wife Julie determined that he was going to run he wanted to give it 100%. His work ethic is highlighted in how he wants to meet voters, personally. He has knocked on about 3100 doors. This not only shows his commitment to succeed, but demonstrates that he knows what’s important to people, and he will be better able to represent them.

Another theme of his campaign is to represent a united Island County. One aspect of this theme is to see how the quality of life issues on Camano are very similar to Whidbey.

Another important aspect is that he is a uniter not a divider. The polarization of politics today where candidates demonize their opponents is destructive and harmful to getting things done. John Dean has Republican support because people who know him trust that he will be fair and objective in performing his responsibilities as commissioner.

There is over two months before the election. Please take the time to learn more about John Dean’s candidacy, what he stands for, and why he wants to represent you.
