Why is it that when building new construction you have to strictly follow and be in compliance with all Island County codes. While in contrast an old trash-ridden mobile home with a failed septic system remains occupied. This is the case on Ellwood Drive. I have filed complaints with the county all to no avail. The property was recently sold to a new owner, but all that accomplished was the stirring up of the rodent population due to their fruitless attempt at cleaning up what would and should take a bulldozer.
Why won’t the county force a clean up? Why do they leave it in an uninhabitable state with a failed septic tank? You could not get away with that while trying to get all of your code approvals done on new construction!
Why the double standard? Additionally there are vehicles strewn about the property some close to five feet from my property line, who knows what they are or have leaked at the expense of contaminating ground water. But the beat goes on and it just remains. Such a shame and what double standards allowed by the county.
