Pacific NorthWest Art School delves into Neolithic, Egyptian art

Explore how artists respond to the challenges and questions of our existence in a four-part lecture series at the Pacific NorthWest Art School. Art historian Sharon Hall will discuss the oldest records of existence, which are paintings, and understanding the purpose of the images on cave walls. Then she’ll discuss how humans moved on to structures and Egyptian art, which evolved into tomb building.

Explore how artists respond to the challenges and questions of our existence in a four-part lecture series at the Pacific NorthWest Art School.

Art historian Sharon Hall will discuss the oldest records of existence, which are paintings, and understanding the purpose of the images on cave walls. Then she’ll discuss how humans moved on to structures and Egyptian art, which evolved into tomb building.

Lectures are 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Discuss Neolithic painting and sculpture March 18; Neolithic architecture March 25; Egyptian painting, April 1; Egyptian architecture and sculpture April 15.

Pay as you go for $10 per class. The school is located at 15 NW Birch St., Coupeville.
