Training jet noise is a heaven-sent sound

First and foremost, I want to say that it is disgusting the way people have been threatening and attacking Ms. Haglund. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should have made her address and phone number public. For that, Ms. Haglund, I am sorry. You were simply  exercising your right of freedom of speech.

That being said, I say enjoy the “noise.” To many, and most on the north end of this island, that “noise” isn’t noise at all. It’s a heaven-sent sound. It’s the sound of a rescue on a dark desert night. The sound of help on the way. The sound of men and women who have returned home, and the sound of those who didn’t. So, before you ignorantly complain about the “noise,” again: think.

As I said previously: Enjoy the “noise” because, more than likely, you’ve never looked in the eyes of a fear-stricken soldier and said, “Don’t worry, the jets are coming, I can hear them, just hold on for a few more minutes,” knowing full well that the jets aren’t coming. You can’t hear them, but deep down you are hoping and praying that you will hear that “heaven-sent sound.”
