Now is the time to think carefully about who you are going to vote for locally and nationally.

It’s unfortunate that we lost a thoughtful, diplomatic and productive commissioner in Angie Homola and, regretably, we now have Jill Johnson as our District No. 2 commissioner.

Johnson has been incredibly difficult to work with, making needed changes almost impossible. We have gone to many Island County commissioner meetings and watched how rude and inconsiderate Johnson can be when the other commissioners and the public are trying to get her to see both sides.

Her inability to address community concerns rationally and intelligently on issues like Wonn Road, fireworks and jet noise shows her lack of maturity.

We need to replace her with someone who will openly and calmly look at each issue. We cannot afford four more years of her shrill bullying.

Please bring good government back to Island County — vote for John Fowkes.
