Letter: Learn how to talk about climate change

Editor,

From 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Oak Harbor Public Library, Whidbey Climate Action will facilitate conversation role-play to learn how to talk about climate change.

Many people are worried about climate change but are afraid to talk about it. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by conflicting information, and conversations often end in arguments. The seriousness of the problem is so alarming others feel frozen or helpless.Talking about climate change is the first step toward relieving anxiety and taking action.

The program will include role-play practice, group discussion, information on further help, and introduction to ways to be involved. The public is invited.

Climate Change Salons are held monthly on the last Saturdays to exchange ideas and support efforts to reduce the rate of climate change and its harmful effects. The salons are a project of Whidbey Climate Action, www.whidbeyclimate.org.
