Editor,
In his Dec. 3 letter to the Whidbey News Times, Terry Sparks complains that President Trump’s is not given credit for his accomplishments and that he is being disparaged by “left-wingers.” I was astonished when I read this letter. Perhaps there are a number of locations on Whidbey Island that have no internet access and where the only information comes from FOX News! The notion that only “left-wingers” (whatever that means) are concerned is absurd. I believe in law and order and I am convinced that actions such as pardoning criminals or corrupting the Department of Justice, as the president has done, are inexcusable.
Moreover, the president believes that climate change is a hoax, and has stopped programs, such as the building of windmills. He has cut most of the funding for USAID, an agency that provided food and health care for millions of people in impoverished countries. The result is that hundreds of thousands of people are dying. And if the cost of health care rises dramatically, as it will if the subsidies are not renewed, millions of Americans will suffer and many will die. Not exactly a pro-life stance. How is it possible that anyone can be unaware of these grim realities? Surely there is nothing patriotic in denying reality.
