Letter: Continuous paving needed on Coles Road

Editor,

I think you will agree, when I say this is a rant and a rave. Raves for the county paving Coles Road. It has been in need of a little TLC for a long time. Starting Friday (Aug. 4) and completed (on Aug. 8), the county has repaved its portions of Coles road. The new surface is a joy to drive on.

My rant is that there are portions of Coles Road that are the responsibility of the City of Langley. This is a single road and the city has only short segments that are its direct responsibility, from the city line to the north end of the Langley water treatment plant and for about 200 feet around the Coles Road & Third Street interchange. Would it have been so hard to coordinate the paving with the City of Langley? Or would it have been so expensive to just do the job right?
