Let’s roll back car tax again

Recently two of my neighbors moved to a location in another state. Why? Because they could not pay the higher property taxes! These are middle income folks hit by runaway state taxes.

Ours is a tax-and-spend Legislature, two-thirds liberal Democrats and topped by a liberal governor. This in spite of the fact that Gov. Gregoire promised on the campaign trail “no new taxes or tax increases.” Upon being elected, she signed first a death tax, and then a huge gas tax, and finally a $20 increase in the car tab tax.

Ask a gas attendant to show you how much of that high gas rate at the pump goes to taxes. Then stand back for a shock. Even with the huge 9 cents per gallon gas tax increase there is no provision to build new roads or lanes which is the only way to reduce the traffic congestion.

The above are some of the reasons I urge citizens to sign and support Initiative 960. This is our only defense to stop the arrogant legislators who oppose the people’s wishes by ignoring their overwhelming votes to cap the car tab taxes at $30. For forms call 425-493-8707.
