Playing without four starters, the Coupeville High School soccer team managed a 1-1 tie with Kingston in a non-league match Saturday, Sept. 21, at Mickey Clark Field.
The Wolves dominated the first half but couldn’t find the net, according to coach Kyle Nelson.
“The second half was a tougher battle,” he said, but Coupeville was able to respond after the Buccaneers (0-3-1) scored off a free kick.
With 15 minutes remaining in the contest, Sophia Martin hit the equalizer off an assist from Eryn Wood.
The Wolves (0-2, 0-4-1) play their second of four consecutive home matches when they meet North Sound Conference foe Cedar Park Christian (0-2, 2-2) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.
