The inability to find the strike zone haunted the North Whidbey Little League 8-10 softball team in its four-inning, 12-2 loss to Sedro-Woolley at the district tournament opener Monday, June 26, in Anacortes.

North Whidbey gave up only one hit in the loss but surrendered 14 walks and hit two batters.

Reese Wasinger scored North Whidbey’s first run in the second inning. After being hit by a pitch, she moved around on stolen bases and wild pitches.

Leilah Edwards walked and scored for North Whidbey in the fourth.

North Whidbey will face the loser of the Central Whidbey/Sedro-Woolley game at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, in the three-team, double-elimination tournament in Anacortes.

Central Whidbey and Sedro-Woolley play at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
