Whidbey athletes win six gold medals at regional championships / Trampoline and tumbling

Nine Oak Harbor athletes representing two different clubs collected 22 top-10 finishes, including six firsts, at the USA Gymnastics Regional Trampoline and Tumbling Championships in Las Vegas May 12 and 13.

Ground Zero

All three Whidbey Island competitors from Mount Vernon’s Ground Zero Gymnastics came home with a gold medal.

Heidi Mullins, 7, won two events in her division, Level 3 trampoline and Level 4 double mini. She also took ninth in Level 5 tumbling.

Kaia Crebbin, 13, was first in Level 6 double mini, second in Level 6 tumbling and third in Level 6 trampoline.

Allison Lovett, 10, nabbed first in Level 4 tumbling, fifth in Level 6 trampoline and 14th in Level 6 double mini.

Island Flyers

The Island Flyers from Oak Harbor’s Leaps and Bounds Dance and Tumbling Center produced two regional champions.

Kaitlyn Rozycki earned a first in trampoline and added a sixth in tumbling and a seventh in double mini.

Amya Martin snagged the other title, winning in trampoline and finishing fifth in double mini.

Sakura Hogan took second in trampoline and fifth in tumbling.

Cassidy Gore placed in three events — third in double mini, fourth in tumbling and fifth in trampoline.

Catrina Ocanas was third in tumbling, fourth in double mini and seventh in trampoline.

Harmony Wertz placed sixth in trampoline.
