The church presents a multimedia presentation answering the question “Jesus is Alive – TRUE or FALSE?” The presentation will address questions raised by Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ. Coupeville Methodist Church
On Palm Sunday, April 4, there will be only one service at Coupeville United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. The major portion of the service will be a presentation of Joseph Martin’s cantata, “The Rose of Calvary.” Performed by the church choir and directed by Jodi Burcham, it will be narrated by Pastor Mary Boyd. All community members are invited to attend this service. On Maundy Thursday there will be a 7 p.m. service, and on Easter Sunday, a sunrise service at 6:30 am. at Sunnyside Cemetery and the traditional Easter service at 11 a.m.

First Reformed Church
Palm Sunday, April 4 – Two morning worship services at 8:45 and 11 a.m. feature the chancel choir performing Hosanna, Loud Hosanna, and other celebratory songs while the children of the congregation will carry palm branches. At 6 p.m., a mission presentation will be shown of the “Casa on the Rock” orphanage in Guatemala, recipients of this year’s Easter offering.
Good Friday, April 9 – Please join the combined congregations of Christian Reformed and First Reformed Churches at 6 p.m. (at First Reformed Church ) and experience with us together in song and word the deep significance of Good Friday.
Easter Sunday, April 11 – At 11 a.m. combined worship service will begin with an antiphonal introit from the chancel choir; Pastor Brown will conclude his sermon series from the Gospel of Mark on the journey to the cross; and the service will conclude with the Hallelujah Chorus.

At 10 a.m., Sunday, April 11, Living Hope Church holds an Easter service at Coupeville Elementary School. Children’s church and nursery will be provided. Everyone in Coupeville and neighboring communities is welcome to celebrate the risen Christ.

Living Word Good hosts a Good Friday service Friday, April 9, 7 p.m. The service will be quiet, meditative and include worship, communion and The Word. It will last for approximately 45 minutes. Nursery will be available. All other children are invited to remain with their families for the service.

Sunrise service set
Oak Harbor Kiwanis Club invites the community to its 14th annual Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m., Sunday, April 11. The nondenominational service will be held at City Beach Park near the windmill. The speaker this year will be Larry Rector, assistant pastor of First United Methodist Church. An offering will be taken to benefit Help House. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to First United Methodist Church,1050 SE Ireland St. Bleachers are not available but people are welcome to bring folding chairs.
