Ann E. (Carter) Thomas, passed away April 29, 2014.
She was born in Memphis, Tenn., to Jack and Lola Carter on Oct. 20, 1920, and graduated from White Haven High School in 1939.
She continued her education at Memphis Business College with a degree in accounting.
As a young woman, she went to work at Chicago-Southern Airlines for nine years, and this started her love for travel.
Ann married Glen Thomas in 1948 and continued to travel through the Navy and civil service, including time spent at West Coast bases, Guam and Japan, where she used her accounting skills in data processing along the way. They always seemed to find their way back to Washington, living in Coupeville, Anacortes and in 1979, settling in Oak Harbor.
She retired from data processing in 1982.
As a widow, also 1982, Ann followed her love for travel, taking over 40 cruises, visiting every corner of the world.
Add camping, fishing, lifelong friends, bowling, shopping and being with family, and her life was complete.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, mother, Lola, and brother, Jack.
She was “Super Mom” to Sonny Thomas (Pam Henry) and Glenda Thomas White (Jim White).
Best “Grammie” to Jamie White Kennison (Drew), Aaron Thomas (Denise), Ryan White (Kaari), Nathan Thomas (Amber) and Jason Thomas (Alison).
Precious “GG” to Cole and Cooper Kennison, William and Henry Thomas, Olivia and Evan Thomas and Brecken Thomas.
