Betty Lee Aus, of Sedro-Woolley, passed away June 23, 2008, with her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert, by her side. Betty was born Nov. 21, 1928 in Farmington, Wisc., and married Robert Aubrey Aus on Jan. 28, 1956.
Betty Lee still greatly mourned over the loss of her parents, Lee and Sarah Mack, her only sister, Joanne, and two brothers, Reynold and Duane. She is survived by her only remaining brother, Bill (Eleanor), and sister-in-laws, Thelma and Courtney (Dolly) Mack, whom she had great love and affection for, and considered her to be like a sister.
Although declining health over the last few years kept Betty Lee from participating in many of the activities she once loved, she remained interested in craft work, including jewelry making, word puzzles, reading, crafts, baking, gardening, and music. Betty Lee was a self-taught musician of the piano, guitar and ukulele. Her children and grandchildren have many fond memories of her sitting at the piano and singing. Betty Lee loved her weekly donut sessions with her “coffee buddies.” Her most favorite activity was sitting at her kitchen table and watching the multitude of birds that fed daily at the feeders in front of her window. Betty loved sharing stories about family, her own as well as all the extended family. You could always count on her knowing the latest information about all her many nieces and nephews scattered around the country.
Betty’s pride and joy were her eight children: Sandie (Paul), Russell (Janis), Laurie, Jim (Christie), Michelle (Dan), Jeff (Vickie), Kathleen (Jim), and Bettina; her 20 grandchildren, Robert (Kari), William (Norma), Nicholas, Matthew, Carrie (Detrick), Rachel (Jerrod), David (Rebecca), George (Jennifer), Kristie (Dane), Cori, Sarah, Erin, Tiffany, Brian, Jennifer (Gabe), Adam, Scott, Michael (Christina), Angela, Aubrey, Lauren, and Hannah; as well as her 24 great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ethan, Kayla, Corey, Alexis, Daquan, Detrick, Jazmine, Breanna, Destiny, Jessica, Cheyanne, Emma, Madeline, Claira, Sarah, Grace, Breah, Kylee, Taylor, Colton, Cashden, Robin and Aziala.
Deeply loved and cherished by her family, Betty Lee was beautiful inside and out. She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a doting great grandmother. God knows!
A funeral mass, followed by a reception, was held June 28, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 719 Ferry Street, Sedro-Woolley.
