May Nichols reopen soon

We found no humor over the Nichols Brothers cartoon in the Saturday’s Whidbey News-Times, nor should anyone else on Whidbey Island. Our hearts go out to Matt Nichols and family. No one has worked harder to keep that business going and is still doing so.

We have four sons and a nephew who work there and they love their jobs. They work very hard to support their families.

Matt Nichols has always been

there for his employees. He gave so much to help the family of our beloved niece Katie Richmond who fought a four-year battle with Neuroblastoma. She passed on to eternity in September of last year.

This is just one of the many kindnesses he has done for his employees and the surrounding community.

We hate to think of the far reaching effects this closing will have on South Whidbey’s economy. Freeland business without Nichols Brothers might be tough.

Matt, our family is praying for you and may God bless you for all you have done. The Buzard family wishes you godspeed in your efforts to re-open. Hopefully, soon.
