Dedicated staff cleans hospital

I just finished reading the detailed article concerning MRSA and Whidbey General Hospital’s medical staff. I can only hope that what was told is not always reported in this paper. The point I am trying to make is the lack of mention to the behind-the-scenes men and women that spend their entire day cleaning the hospital everyday.

The staff of the Environmental Services Department receives intensive training on the proper cleaning techniques and practices them throughout the hospital everyday. I would like to point out the toilet seats and restroom door knobs of a properly maintained public building are cleaner than the average office computer keyboard and telephone.

I just want to assure you that everything you touch at Whidbey General Hospital is cleaned and disinfected many times each day. Just a reminder to wash your hands frequently, it really works, and you will benefit by fewer colds and other disorders.
