Victims get a life sentence

William Minish, serial child molester, is quoted as saying, “I’ve lost more than my victims ever did.” (Whidbey News-Times, Jan. 16.) Absolutely not true. Dr. Bruce Perry, The Child Trauma Academy, says child trauma victims can experience any of the following, from soon after the trauma and over a life-time: “Anxiety, impulsivity, aggression, sleep problems, depression, respiratory and heart problems, vulnerability to substance abuse, antisocial and criminal behavior, retardation and school failure.”

Absolutely not true. Dr. Bruce Perry, The Child Trauma Academy, says child trauma victims can experience any of the following, from soon after the trauma and over a life-time: “Anxiety, impulsivity, aggression, sleep problems, depression, respiratory and heart problems, vulnerability to substance abuse, antisocial and criminal behavior, retardation and school failure.” Recent studies also link child trauma to frequent and debilitating headaches.

With at least six known victims, and possibly many unknown victims, Mishish has unleashed a life sentence on too many innocent children.

Let us give sympathy and on-going assistance to those who deserve it —- the victims.
