The Coupeville High School volleyball team placed 11th in the South Whidbey Tournament Saturday, Sept. 22.
Coach Toni Crebbin used the tournament to experiment with different lineups and to give “everyone lots of playing time.”
The Wolves placed third in pool play, falling to Lakeside from Eastern Washington in the first match. Crebbin said her club played “two strong games” in beating Friday Harbor, then played well but lost to Cascade.
In play against other third-place pool teams, the Wolves fell to Nooksack Valley, winning one of three sets, then beat Shoreline Christian “fairly easily,” Crebbin said.
No individual statistics were kept.
Crebbin said, “I plan on incorporating some of the changes I made in tomorrow night’s match against Granite Falls.”
Coupeville (1-4, 2-4) goes to Granite Falls (2-3) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.
