Lakewood, behind a record setting performance by Hayley Liebel, defeated the visiting Coupeville volleyball team 3-1 Thursday, Sept. 30.
Coupeville coach Toni Crebbin said the Wolves “had a hard time stopping” Liebel, who pounded a school record 22 kills.
Coupeville won the third game 29-27 as the Wolves, according to Crebbin, “played the most competitive game we have all year.”
Lakewood (5-2) won games one, two and four 25-18, 25-10, 25-15.
Laura Chan led Coupeville with 16 assists, helping Jessica Riddle record nine kills.
Coupeville (2-5, 3-5) goes to Archbishop Murphy (6-1) Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7 p.m.
