For the first time in school history, the Oak Harbor High School boys and girls freshman track teams won the Western Conference Freshman Championships at Lake Stevens Tuesday, May 1.
The meet featured 15 schools, including five from the 3A division and 10 from 4A.
The 3A Oak Harbor boys led the way with 125 points, followed by 4A Jackson with 115. The girls scored 115, and Jackson was again second, this time with 94.5 points.
Dejon Devroe paced the boys with wins in the 200 (24.13), 400 (52.23) and 4×100 relay (48.3) with Robert Miller-Hubbel, Zach Norton and Chris Humphries.
Jackson Constant added another first (discus, 121-01).
Nalani Gabbert (300 hurdles, 52.04) and Jessica Hollins (100, 13.65) led the girls with individual wins and teamed with Sierra Seabolt and Amelia Berner to win the 4×200 relay (1:54.42).
