The Coupeville High School tennis team began rivalry week with a 6-1 win over longtime foe Friday Harbor Monday, March 28, in Coupeville.

That win sets up a match at island neighbor South Whidbey (2-1) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30.

The Wolves (1-1) won all but the fourth doubles match in the showdown with Friday Harbor.

“Not much to say about this one,” coach Ken Stange said. “Friday Harbor is definitely rebuilding.”

Singles winners were Valen Trujillo (8-0), Sydney Autio (8-1) and Bree Daigneault (8-2).

In doubles, Payton Aparicio/Sage Renninger (8-0), Jazmine Franklin/McKenzie Bailey (8-2) and Maggie Crimmins/Kameryn St. Onge (8-6) were all winners.

Julia Borges and Julianne Sem dropped fourth doubles 8-3.
