Vikings down Wildcats / Swim and dive

The rebuilding Oak Harbor High School swim and dive team fell 128-41 to visiting Lake Stevens Tuesday, Sept. 24.
The 4A Vikings, one of the area’s top programs, won every event in the meet.
Oak Harbor, which is trying to reestablish its team after the temporary closure of the local pool and the disruption to the feeder program, was led by second place finishes by Grace Chargualaf (100-meter butterfly, 1:29.51) and Caitlin Dennen (100 backstroke, 1:19.34).
The Wildcats were also second in all three relays: 200 medley (Frances Empinado, Dennen, Chargualaf, Casey Cabigting), 2:33.08; 20 freestyle (Mekayla VonGrey, Madelyn Ward, Lindsey Griffith, Cabigting), 2:33.04; and 400 free (Dennen, Chargualaf, Ward, Empinado), 5:24.16.
Oak Harbor (1-2) hosts Stanwood (1-1) at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1.
