The sun sparkled on the Coupeville Invitational track meet Saturday, March 30, as the Wolves produced their own shining moments.

Most of the glitter came on the girls side where Coupeville finished first in the six-team meet with 137 points. Cedar Park Christian nipped Mount Vernon Christian 101-100 for second. Clallam Bay (91), Crescent (7) and Lummi (0) rounded out the field.

The Coupeville boys placed third with 92 points, trailing Mount Vernon Christian (166) and Cedar Park Christian (128). Clallam Bay tallied 50, one more than Crescent; Lummi didn’t score.

The Coupeville girls were paced by Lindsey Roberts and Mallory Kortuem, who each took part in four winning events.

Roberts captured the 100 hurdles in 16.68 and the high jump in a personal best 4-11.

She ran with Kortuem and the Hoskins sisters, Ja’Kenya and Ja’Tarya, on the winning 4×100 (52.88) and 4×200 (1:51.23) relay teams.

Kortuem posted a PR in the 400 (1:00.65) and a season best in the pole vault (7) for her two individual wins.

Lucy Sandahl also won two individual events in season best times (800, 2:44.57; 1,600, 5:59.64).

Catherine Lhamon added a first in the 3,200 in a season best 13:31.69.

The Coupeville boys collected firsts from Jean Lund Olsen (100, 11.61) and Danny Conlisk (400, 51.76).

Cedar Park Christian and King’s visit Coupeville for a 4 p.m. North Sound Conference meet on Thursday, April 11.
