Wildcats boys win double dual meet | Track

The Oak Harbor High School boys track team won both ends of a double dual meet Thursday, April 30, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium, while the girls finished with a win and a tie.

The Wildcat boys thumped Stanwood 91-54 and Everett 100.67-44.33.

The Oak Harbor and Stanwood girls tied at 73, and Oak Harbor ripped Everett 113-33.

Dejon Devroe, Jared Gray, John Rodeheffer and Jonalynn Horn were all multiple winners in individual events for Oak Harbor.

Devroe won the 200 (23.03), 400 (49.92) and the 4×400 relay with Gray, Mac Nuanez and Ozelle Jackson (3:34.06).

Devroe’s time in the 400 is the second fastest in the state this spring among 3A runners. He ran a 49.46 earlier this season.

Gray took both hurdle events (110, 16.57; 300, 40.96), and Rodeheffer captured both distance events (1,600, 4:37.18; 3,200, 9:53.14).

Other winners for the boys were Tyler Adamson (shot put, 49-09), Diangelo McKinney (long jump, 20-05) and the 4×100 relay team of Kris Medina, Ty Baker, Brycin McIntyre and Daniel Guerro (46.94).

For the girls, Horn won the 1,600 (5:26.76) and 3,200 (11:51.06).

Alana Austin won the 200 (26.57) and ran on two winning relay teams. She teamed with Matti Miesle, Janae Payne and Jenna Cooley to win the 4×100 (52.17) and with Kaitlyn Chelberg, Payne and Miesle in the 4×200 (1:49.09).

Also recording firsts for the girls were Amaya Ritlierodt (100, 13.21), Taylor Deconzo (shot, 35-08.5) and Hayley Lundstrom (triple jump, 32-04).

Oak Harbor heads to Marysville for the Tomahawk Classic at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2.
