Mountlake Terrace pounded out 15 hits in a 17-1 win over the host Oak Harbor High School softball team Friday, April 17.
The Hawks (5-2, 6-3) were efficient in driving in runs, leaving only four runners on base in the five-inning game.
“We made softball plays,” Wildcat coach Todd Showalter said, “but they just hit the ball. We had a few errors, but mostly it was just them getting hits.”
Oak Harbor, on the other hand, struggled against Mountlake Terrace pitcher Kira Doan, registering only four hits.
The Wildcats’ run came in the first inning. Taylor Heidt reached on an error, Alexa Findley singled and Tricia Sarns walked to load the bases. Kelly Findley followed with a sacrifice fly for the RBI.
Shea Davis, Sarns and Kelly Findley collected the other Oak Harbor hits.
Oak Harbor (1-7, 1-9) hosts Ferndale (8-1) at 4 p.m. Monday, April 20, in a nonleague game.
