Oak Harbor places 7th in Shootout | Girls golf

The Oak Harbor High School girls golf team finished in the middle of the pack of the annual Whidbey Shootout Tuesday, March 24, at the Whidbey Golf Club.

Kamiak easily won the 13-team tournament with 468 strokes, followed by Lake Stevens (486), Snohomish (513), Bellingham (522), Glacier Peak (523), Jackson (536), Oak Harbor (541), Arlington (576), Marysville Getchell (585), Meadowdale (622), Shorewood (576), Sehome (686) and Shorecrest (no score).

Sydney Majors of Jackson was medalist out of 74 golfers with a 78.

Oak Harbor’s Resego Mooki finished with a 96 to lead the Wildcats and place ninth individually.

Marisa Sligh was the next Wildcat, shooting a 100. Hailey Beecher had a 103, Hannah Taylor 113, Tarra Baird 129 and Grace Korsmo 149.

Oak Harbor plays in the Burlington Invitational at 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, at the Skagit Golf and Country Club.
