The Oak Harbor cheer program features three teams — competition, varsity and JV — during the winter season.
Seniors Rebecca White and Shannon Wolfe will lead the team along with nine other letter winners from the fall season: Elizabeth Adkins, Jade Brown, Micaiah Davis, Mariah Dozhier, Molly Murdock, Jillian White, Angel Williams, Ellie Williamson and Hailey Williamson.
Coach Robin Gohn said the seniors and a strong junior class “know how to communicate with each other to get the job done.” She added, “Everyone has to understand the importance of academics, team dedication and time management.”
The upperclassmen will be blended with a handful of “newbies,” Gohn said. The newcomers can add to the team by “being coachable, by dedicating a lot of time and effort into learning what cheer is all about and by adopting the never-give-up attitude,” Gohn said.
Gohn added that the team is looking forward to supporting the winter teams, working toward their goals and making cheer memories of their own.
