Three Oak Harbor High School golfers made the cut after the first day of the boys Northwest District 1 golf tournament at the Everett Golf and Country Club Monday, May 17.

The tournament will conclude today, May 18, and the top 14 golfers will qualify for the state tournament at Richland’s Canyon Lakes next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 25 and 26.

While three Wildcats made the cut, they will have to pick up the pace if they want to make the 14-to-state list.

Judd Ford led Oak Harbor with an 80, tied for 23rd and three strokes out of 14th.

It was a disappointing start for Ford who was the Wesco North co-champion and regular season co-champion.

Austin Fields at 83 and Matt Fikse at 85, which was the cut line, also qualified for today’s second and final round.

Greg Martin missed the cut by one stroke with an 86, and Jim Nguyen shot an 87.

As a team, Oak Harbor was seventh with a stroke total of 421. Jackson leads at 375.
