Russell Keith ‘Russ’ Sage

Russell Keith “Russ” Sage, 67, longtime Oak Harbor resident, died at his home on June 12, 2009, having courageously fought a battle with cancer.

Russ was born in Aberdeen on Aug. 30, 1941, to Russell and Irene (Thomas) Sage. He was raised in Lynnwood and attended Edmonds High School, graduating in 1960. Russ entered the U.S. Navy, serving for three years. He met Nancy Jones in 1984, and they were married on June 9, 1990. He had been a resident of Oak Harbor since 1978. Russ was a self-employed carpenter and contractor. He was passionate about hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.

Russ is survived by his wife, Nancy, at home; three daughters, Kathrine Shairrick and husband Robert of Snohomish, Kimberly Sage-Clark of Coupeville and Vicki Sage of Lynnwood; one son, Randy Sage of Monroe; five grandchildren, Jourdan Clark, and Jami, Kaitlyn, Jake and Zach Sage. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jimmy Sage and a sister, LaVada Sage.

A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, June 20, at 1 p.m. at San de Fuca Chapel, Pastor Cliff Horr officiating.
